Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary is registered as a non-profit organisation (NPO). Here at the Sanctuary they commit to the overall well being of all the babies placed in their care. The Baby Moses Sanctuary acts as a temporary place of safety. Babies are accepted regardless of race, sex or medical status. All children are placed through an official court order and are welcomed into a warm and loving home by mom (Lanie), dad (Christo) and their three biological children, Michael, Johan and Heinrich. (The circumstances the babies are removed from range from being abandoned at the hospital after birth or to be left alone in a shack for a whole day without care. One of the babies in their care was found in a ladies toilet, rolled up in a carpet. Two babies were dropped off at the front by their dads after the mothers died at birth.) Permanent foster- or adoptive parents are sought and screened to provide the child with a stable, bright and happy future. An Executive Board deals with the day-to-day management and operation of the sanctuary. They are supported by 4 well trained child minders that work in shifts, as well as a number of members out of the community who offer their help voluntary. This is done under the supervision of the Board of Directors. The members of the Board consist of professionals and volunteers from the community and include a medical doctor, professional nurse, registered social worker, a lawyer, an accountant, a pastor and a community minister.
