What is in a name? Why the name “Baby Moses” you might ask… Moses’ mother was forced to give him up less he would have been drowned in the Nile by the authorities. She was desperate; she was scared. What alternative did she have? After she placed him in a basket in the Nile, a princess found and adopted him. Moses grew up as a prince in a palace. He was loved and cared for by his adoptive family and later on, when he was older, the Lord used him mightily to free his own people. Today in S.A., babies get abandoned for similar reasons. Their mothers must be so desperate or confused that they see no other way out than to let someone else take care of their children. Maybe a mother is unemployed with no financial resources; or maybe she already has five or six other children and has no family to support her. Who are we to judge these mothers? Who are we to pick up the first stone? At Baby Moses there is a firm belief that God has a great future for these very special babies and that one day they shall also stand in His service, with purpose.
