CARE, ROUTINE AND PLAY...

Once accepted, the baby undergoes a medical examination to identify illnesses like HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, abnormalities or anything requiring medical attention. In need the baby will be hospitalised if he/she requires specific medical attention, or if he/she might create a risk in infecting other babies at the sanctuary. All immunizations will be administered when required. We endeavor to get the babies into a routine of feeding, playing, napping and bathing. Staff and volunteers are urged to play with, tell stories and sing to babies and to play with them in the garden. Reliable volunteers take babies on outings to church, family gatherings and picnics. This encourages the babies to socialise and familiarise them with the outside environment and to help ensure emotional stability.
